Manufacturing Process

From Raw Material To Container

Every Sanis Eco shipment follows the same five-stage process — sourced, carbonized, graded, quality-checked and packed — so buyers get the same specification on the tenth container as they did on the first.

Sourcing

Raw material — coconut shell, cinnamon offcuts, rice husk and clay — is collected directly from Sri Lankan mills, estates and traditional potters. Every input is an agricultural by-product, not virgin timber, keeping the supply chain sustainable at the source.

  • Coconut shell from local mills and processors
  • Cinnamon offcuts from Ceylon cinnamon estates
  • Rice husk from regional paddy mills
  • Clay sourced for traditional potters

Carbonization

Shell and husk are carbonized in controlled kilns — a slow, monitored burn that produces clean charcoal without chemical activation or synthetic additives. This is the step that defines everything downstream: burn quality, ash content and aroma all trace back to how the carbonization is managed.

  • No activation chemicals, ever
  • No synthetic additives or binders
  • Monitored burn temperature and duration

Grading & Briquetting

Carbonized material is sorted by grain size and either left raw and lump, or pressed into briquettes. Shisha and BBQ charcoal is formed into pillow or hexagonal shapes to buyer specification; rice husk is milled into biochar for agricultural blends.

  • Pillow, hexagonal, flat or cube briquette formats
  • Grain-size sorting for raw & lump charcoal
  • Milled biochar for fertilizer blending

Quality Check

Before anything is packed, each batch is tested against the buyer's specification — ash content, moisture level and burn time for charcoal; purity and freshness checks for bottled king coconut water. Batches that don't meet spec are not shipped.

  • Ash content & moisture testing
  • Burn-time verification for briquettes
  • Batch traceability back to raw material intake

Export Packing

Finished product is packed to generic or private label specification, palletised, and loaded to the container capacity declared on the buyer's order. Every shipment leaves FOB Colombo with full export documentation.

  • Private label & OEM packaging available
  • Palletised loading to declared container capacity
  • FOB Colombo, CIF available on request

Quality & Compliance

Consistency Is The Product

Buyers don't just order charcoal or coconut water — they order a specification. Sanis Eco's quality process exists to make sure that specification is identical on every container, whether it's your first order or your fiftieth.

  • Batch testing — ash, moisture and burn time checked before packing
  • Traceability — every batch traced back to raw material intake
  • Sample-first policy — samples available before full container commitment
